COURSE 1 : USER INPUT - HOW TO INSTALL ANDROID STUDIO?




Before entering into the course , every user needs the platform to achieve their code into existence

yeah , this platform is known as INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT

IDE is a platform which consists of text editor , Compiler , intrepreter, debugger tools (all  features in one cake ) will enables the user to access a single Graphical user interface.



through this course we will use Android studio as a part of our IDE

LET ME STATE FEW TIPS WHAT I HAVE GATHERED FROM MY EXPERIENCE AND OTHER LEARNING WEBSITES :

1.CHECK WHETHER JAVA IS INSTALLED ON YOUR COMPUTER

2. IF IT IS INSTALLED CHECK THE VERSION OF JAVA ,
              TO CHECK THE VERSION OF THE JAVA  DO THE FOLLOWING STEPS   
  • OPEN THE COMMAND PROMPT DIALOG BOX ON YOUR SYSTEM THROUGH RUN


  • IF COMMAND PROMPT IS DISPLAYED NOW TYPE THE FOLLOWING " java -version"

  • AFTER TYPING THE ABOVE COMMAND , Hit "ENTER"

  • once enter key is presses , it might result in anyone of the two boxes displayed below with respective to the occurence of installing java ( resembling it as "java version 1.8.X.XXX")



  • If it is not installed it will results as

  •   
IF THE VERSION IS LESS THAN 1.7.XX
 GO THROUGH THIS LINK INSTALL JAVA DEVELOPMENT KIT (JDK )


     CHECK CAREFULLY ABOUT YOUR SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS BEFORE DOWNLOADING THE JDK KIT ( BE SURE WHETHER YOUR SYSTEM IS x32 OR x64 bit and start download)

ONCE JDK IS INSTALLED , ITS TIME TO DOWNLOAD ANDROID STUDIO:

FOLLOW THE STEPS TO DOWNLOAD ANDROID STUDIO:

Step 2  : click next 


step 3 : wait for a while (  it takes long time to install , provided if the network connection is fast it works like charm!!)


Step 4 : once it is downloaded , it welcomes us with a window  ,

EVENTHOUGH WHEN AN IDE IS SETTED UP , WE NEED THE PIECE OF OUTPUT

IT CAN BE DONE IN 2 WAYS

  • THROUGH EMULATOR:  
               WHAT IS AN EMULATOR?

                                              AN EMULATOR IS AN ANDROID VIRTUAL DEVICE (AVD) which specifically target to the android device  . through which all the work can be carried out on the device which is similar to the android phone 

  •          To install emulator we need to do the following steps:
  • Go to the Android Sdk manager icon and click on that icon                                                                                                                                        


      

    • select the packages such as sdk platform as the image prescribed above  
    • after selecting the packages to install , accept the license agreement and CLICK "INSTALL 1 PACKAGE"
       
TO CREATE THE EMULATOR DO THE STEPS 
                      1. CLICK  THE ANDROID SDK MANAGER ICON
                      
                      2. IN THE SDK MANAGER , START TOOLS ---->  AVD MANAGER
                       3. A DIALOG BOX WILL APPEAR AS BELOW
                      

 

NOW GO THROUGH THE PIC AND DO THE STEP INSCRIBED IN THE PICTURE

  • IN THE AVD MANAGER CLICK THE NEW BUTTON 

  • IN THE AVD MANAGER DIALOG BOX SELECT AN ANDROID DEVICE ACCORDING TO YOUR WISH SO AS TO EMULATE 
  • IN TARGET SELECT AN ANDROID APK WITH HIGHER LEVEL 19 OR ABOVE
  • UNDER  EMULATE OPTIONS , SELECT GPU OPTIONS TO HOST  THEM
  • IN ANDROID DEVICE ,  SELECT THE DEVICE TO EMULATE 
 

 

  • CLICK  OK TWICE TO SET UP YOUR EMULATOR 
  • AFTER DOING THIS STEPS , OUR EMULATOR HAS BEEN SETTED UP!!
  • NOW AGAIN CLICK THE Android SDK Manager, click the Tools menu and select Manage AVDs
  • In the Android Virtual Device Manager, select the emulator and click Start. RSXE5Android.png
  •  THIS IS HOW THE ANDROID EMULATOR LOOKS

ANOTHER WAY : (recommended)

   THE EASIEST WAY AND ATTRACTIVE TO TEST YOUR APP ON YOUR ANDROID DEVICE


To test your app on your android device :

   Do the Following steps:
           
  • GO TO THE SETTINGS ON YOUR PHONE AND FIND YOUR "ABOUT PHONE"AND TAP THIS
                       SETTINGS ---> ABOUT PHONE
                              

  • NOW FIND YOUR "ANDROID BUILD NUMBER" ON YOUR PHONE AND TAP 7 TIMES TO ENABLE THE DEVELOPER OPTIONS ON YOUR PHONE     
                                            

  •        WHEN YOU CLICKED 7 TIMES , A POP UP MESSAGE WILL BE APPEARED AS SHOWN BELOW
                                

  • ONCE DEVELOPER OPTIONS ENABLED ON YOUR PHONE DO THE FOLLOWING STEPS
  • GO TO THE DEVELOPER OPTIONS IN YOUR PHONE
             


           SELECT THE "DEBUGGING MODE"
            
            AND SELECT " INSTALL VIA USB" TO install the built apps on your phone




              when you run the app it is installed on your device with your permission on a dialog box resembling your persmission .

AND THATS IT ! YOU'RE DONE
